Spot prices are normally quoted in USD per troy ounce. The calculator converts troy ounce to grams, applies exchange rate, purity, weight, making charge, and tax.
Troy ounce to gram
1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 grams. Gold per gram = spot price / 31.1034768.
Gold purity
22K gold uses about 91.6% purity, while 18K gold uses about 75% purity.
Gold silver ratio
Gold silver ratio = gold price per gram / silver price per gram. It estimates how many grams of silver equal one gram of gold value.
